At ForChics, we love a good Fall season. Sweaters, pumpkins, cinnamon, family time, relaxation and cider. I mean, what's not to love?

We actually love Fall so much, that we have it down to a science. Our top make-up hacks for fall include cleansing and priming your palette, utilizing colorful eyeliners, rosey cheeks, darker lips, and cream highlighters!

We mentioned rosey cheeks and darker lips, but how do you accentuate your current make-up classics to make them fall and winter ready? Hint: Adding natural oils and getting creative. Read below to see how we do fall:

Step 1: Cleanse & Prime Your Palette

It’s no mystery that the colder, drier air can make your skin red, chapped and irritated. The first step for any make-up routine is to take care of your skin. And boy, will she need some extra love this fall.

Our top hacks for smooth skin this fall include heavy moisture and face massages. Make sure to come prepared with some amazing night creams, eye creams and facial oils. Before your make-up can look amazing, your skin has got to FEEL amazing!

Step 2: Have Some Fun with Bright Eyeliners

If the colder weather has you down, don’t worry. You are not alone. According to Psychology Today, over 10 million Americans are affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder. While eyeliners alone will not fix this, adding some color and some play to your day can be helpful :)

Right now, we are loving the Euphoria-esque trend of colored liners. Olive green, mustard yellow, and electric blue will add a pop of color against the backdrop of gloomy weather. Try a wing or any other pattern you’d like. Get creative.

If you are affected by SAD (seasonal affective disorder), you will also want to consult a therapist if you can. If not, they have some handy UV Lights that simulate sunlight for a little extra boost. You can read about the best therapy lights on Health.com

Step 3: Keep Your Cheeks Looking Rosey

If you are outside for any length of time, your cheeks will probably get a little rosey. But how do you keep that wind-kissed look even if you are working from home all day? Right now, we are loving creme blushes!

Cream blushes are great for the fall and winter, because they add that extra bit of moisture. If you want to get an even dewier and creamier blush look, you can add a serum or natural oil to your cream blush base.

Get the blush flush that you are looking for by applying pink/red blush on the apples of your cheeks. Also, the chill-hitting-your-face kind of look is in, so swipe that color up until your temples. We don’t want to be subtle here.

Step 4: Go For Darker Lips

We LOVE a bold lip in the fall. Think burgundy, rich red, plum, or maroon. And, that goes for lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip tints! All are fair game this season, babe. Pro Tip: A lip brush will help with an accurate and even application. They are also great with liquid, and tube lipsticks.

To get a creamy, bold lip, you can mix some RoseHip Oil in with your favorite lipstick, lip tint, or lip gloss. The natural oil will keep your lips looking moisturized all day and the color will give you that naturally chilled, winter look.

Step 5: Highlight Up, Babe!

Select your perfect highlighter for the fall and winter months. Since you will have less of your natural dew/glow (aka sweat) in the cold months, it's ok to go on a little heavier with the highlight for this season.

If you haven’t noticed, we love creams. Definitely opt for a cream highlighter this fall for that sun-kissed dew that you achieved all summer long. Apply along your cheekbone, all the way to the apples of your cheeks. Also, apply to the tip of your nose and your cupid’s bow for a little extra glow!

Conclusion

In conclusion, get your creams and natural oils ready! Make sure to opt for moisturizing makeup to avoid drying out your skin. Also, prep sufficiently before applying any make-up, and of course, treat your skin afterwards by washing it all off and hydrating. Want to learn how to remove your make-up mindfully?
